Seeing doctor

Posted in

It aint public holiday, it aint school holiday, it aint ah gong's birthday, it aint my birthday, it aint ...... , thus, all are working as usual except me 8) . Yesterday I went to visit a doctor nearby my home. "xman:Hi, first time here." "nurse:Your IC?" ... :o No more temperature taking, now I know clinics dont do it anymore, OK. ... "doctor:What happens?" "xman:Coughing." "doctor:Any flame?" "xman: Flame? :? (flame --> fire. ah? magai?)" The doctor quickly switched to chinese speaking. ... ("xman:ooo,it's 'tan2', za dao!!!") "xman: Yes, yellowish one" ... "doctor:look, 38.9 degree C :o , you have fever." Though I dont feel cold . ... "doctor:@#$%@& leave?" "xman: I havent applied any leave." "doctor: Hahaha, I'm asking whether you need one day leave?" "xman:oo,hehe, yes, one day leave." :p (za dao again. No use you talking to the table wa. And your questions come out so sudden and quick one. I'm not close to you lah, first time listening to you. When I know you are talking, I can only get the last few words only. :? ) ... "nurse: $@^#$% day, @#$! 3 %@#$, @#$ suck #@." (Okok, it is printed there, no use telling something that I couldnt remember.) Haiii, what a day.
Thus, today is my free day, others labouring day. First MC I ever take since I joined the company last Oct. Today is quite relaxing. The first time, I walk out slowly to coffee shop to enjoy my breakfast. Then back home to watch TV, online, and also the most important mission -- sleep as much as I want :p . So, I should sleep now. That's all folks.

It's Sunday

It's Sunday. It's a Sunday which I dont want to go anywhere. It has three days since the last post. After the dinner at last Thursday, my throat started to get into bad mood. Friday I slept very late somemore, as a result I got into fever :( at Saturday. Luckily, after about 20 hours of sleep (sure not continuous 20 hours lah), I recovered back to normal state, but still abit coughing.

Haiii, the head is heavy still, feel like vomit, yet cant do anything. ...... missed the weekend to watch any of the three movies: HP, SII, and TDAT. eerrrr, ......

Anyway, the Sat meeting went on smoothly. I didnt buy anything to bribe others though (may be I should have, if I had taken breakfast then probably wont fever :? ). However, next week's meeting will be a meeting that I dont know how to die out the new work. Thought I found something new to work on thus presented during the meeting. After the meeting I did a simple google click, found that it was actually done long time ago }:). errr .... poor things do not come alone!!!

7-up in Pub

Childhood songs -- "Waiting for lesson break, waiting for school end, waiting for gaming childhood :p." "We already grown up, a lot of dreams are flying :?, just like childhood time the dragonfly that we are chasing at." "Happiness sharing with you much better than having happiness alone :D, till today I still very much appreciated, good friends are like a window can let us see different things."
Dinner tonight was much better than all the dinners I had recently. What a balance and healthy meal (compared to the 20 dumpling I had in NUS at noon!!!) I had. Thus, I was more than happy to pay the bill. Done with the dinner, what's next? At weekends, probably we would go to another coffee shop for second round and chit chatting, or for higher class activity, go to KTV or cinema or pooling. We dont like smoking }:), naturally, we wont have disco or pub as our first choice. Somehow that's all the life in the city. My friend asked, "Why torture yourselves with all the smoke, heart pumping songs, bitter wine/beer ... ? :p " Ha, I said, "They like the environment rather than the expensive wine." Well, ....
Remember one time I went to a pub in Boat Quay with friends. "Come on come on, SD 25 per person, drink as much as you can. For girls only SD 15, dont miss it." After one round of survey, we went back to the SD 25 pub. Friends, let get in this :?. ... ...:? ah, each of us was given a plastic cup, you know those used in refreshment after seminar, or in the canteen 1 . Ha, nvm, then our hands were tightened with paper ring like a re-entry permit :?. The big size guys looked professional guarding at the entrance, bigger size than the terminator!!! Once we get in, where is the drink? would we find water dispenser? :? Oh my god, cant drink beer? Only 7-up, ... and so on which I never get what are they :?. Somemore, need to pay tips to the stunt man in the counter!!! The one who throw the water bottle up and down, and finally pour the drinks into our plastic cups :? 8). Ha, really drink as much as you can, provided you can get drinks from the stunt man. I got the drinks, what's next? No place to sit at, no dancing stage, .... , what a pub, just stand and drink 7-up with plastic cups. After two round of drinking, we were out of the pub. Haha, that's it. What a good experience.
Today is Thursday, thus, after dinner we just head back home, online, then sleep. Day after today will always be better. I hoped so. :)

Vesak Day

Posted in

The day after today is a public holiday, the Vesak Day. I'm free thinker, thus, nothing for me to celebrate, it's just another weekend or sleeping day. Outside occasionally sounds "dung dung dung dung", a bit annoying sometimes }:). In view tomorrow will be a holiday, so ... :).
Holiday is holiday, however, my research work still has no progress at all.:? My friend said, "if you wanna fast, then you cant reach." For my case, it seems more appropriate to say, "I cant reach, so must go faster." Mmmm...sometimes proverbs are just a bunch of pitfalls. I guessed so :?. e.g. old man said, "Able to eat the bitter of the most bitter, only then you are considered man above others." Did you ever work like a dog and keep on encouraging yourself with this proverb? Haha :d, I hope not. Old man also said, "read and crack 10 thousands books, writing like a god." Haha :d, dont you feel even more dumb when you read more books? I dont know, but most people guessed so :?. That's why we called them bookworms.
Albert Einstein said, "What restricted me the most, is my education!!!" I said, "What restricted me the most, is what others said!!!" As a conclusion, be yourself, be happy, enjoy!!! (Probably you dont wanna read what I wrote here, since it might restrict you in someway. However, if you take that seriously, then you actually agreed with me :p.)
End of philosophy of the day. We missed the thinking process during our childhood, so dont miss it until we cant think anymore.

Sunday is always a good time to sleep

Sunday is always a good time to sleep till sunlight reaches my eye sight. Main activities of the weekend,

1. KTV in Jurong East.
2. Dinner in DinTaiFeng

The KTV was a great time to review old songs and also to catch up with new songs. Phew....sang for almost 4.5 hours in room 27 with SD7 each person :), altogether 4 of us. And we still had 20++ selected songs in the list. (Human is foolish :p, no need money then dont want health.) Next week Vesak Day or next weekend probably will go to KTV again, as we missed out some friends today. But that depends whether my throat can recover on time :(.

After the KTV and quick drink in McD, we headed to the restaurant in Orchard road DinTaiFeng. The first time I had my dinner as early as 4:30pm 8). Eaten dozens of "small cage bun" and dumplings. :p Is the translation looks funny? I always wonder whether my dumbness is due to eating too much dumplings in the past :?. But I suppose eating somemore today wont affect my dumbness much :p. Six of us eaten SD 143 dinner with buns and dumplings only :o. That's SD 24 each person!!! If I use the price of each dumpling selling in the canteen as the basic unit (SD 0.4 each dumpling), that means I had eaten 60 typical dumplings!!! I normally can take only 10 dumplings as one meal. Therefore, I had eaten 6 meals in 1 meal!!!! Oh my god!!! :p

Anyway, this is a great weekend. Weekends wouldnt be meaningful if I save the money and stay home staring at the wall.

It's again a great weekend

It's again a great weekend. The morning was spent in the extra ordinarily cold meeting room in NTU. After staying more than 5 minutes in the room, my skin lost all the elasticity. My fur stood up straight. My dear x-NTU classmate took most of the time to report her progress in her one week research. Haha, as I had expected, I didnt have a chance to present again (though I really didnt prepare anything to present :p).

However, next week I probably will be the first one to present. So, I die die have to come out with something new for my research in this week. And someone has to provide snack at next meeting, as we always complain hungry when someone is presenting. So I should bring some snack for the next meeting? at the same time to bribe them not to ask many questions 8)

Today was a lucky day

Today was a lucky day. There was no train fault, no more smelly hair, no more late to office, but it was a rainy day. I always have my umbrella ready at my bag, so not a problem :). It'll be especially useful when the girls in company didnt bring their umbrella.

Today was the last day of the training course. We actually left very little material to cover. ("What to do? Ah ha, just keeps on chit chatting will kill the time easily") .... 4:00pm, the chit chatting session ended with warm good byes. Haha, good, what a great relief. But they still asked whether I have other courses to be conducted in the future :o. ("Why would someone like to attend such a boring training course?")

Today was declared as the family week. Everyone could leave the company at 5:00pm (usually 6:00pm). Mmmm, even though I dont have family to dine with, I still can go back early to have a good sleep. Arrrr, I always afraid of Friday. Every Saturday I'll go to school to meet professor and friends in a weekly meeting. And I've nothing to present again :(.

Anyway, that's the business of tomorrow. Tire then I must sleep, hungry then I must eat.

Professor of the Day - Day II

MSN Nickname of the Day: "Professor of the Day -- Day II"

Today is not better than any other day, a sleepy day. Yesterday slept at 2:00am, luckily my handphone with flattening battery still managed to wake me up on time at 7:20am. Within two hours after I woke up, it was no more than basic routine work. On the way to my office, I was sleeping in the MRT perpendicular to the floor. Each time the train stopped at one station, there were just more people getting in, nobody getting out of the train. ("eii aunty, please dont get closer to me anymore, I have no space to step backwards :(. I can smell your hair with unknown shampoo branded X :?.") Luckily these didnt happen earlier. Some time earlier, the MRT operator kept announcing, "This train will be delayed due to the train fault, we apologize for causing any inconvenient." (Ops, train fault again? Which train is faulty? Hope it's another train, I dont want to get stucked in the sky. :o) Ha, probably the train fault (not the train I was in) caused large number of aunties uncles accumulated in the stations joined my train. "Clementi~~~, Clementi~~~", ah ha, time to get off. ("Aunty, please give way") I quickly got out of the train. Standing behind someone for so long, I could only remember she was not thin at all, not tall at all, with smelly hair, but I just couldnt remember the color of the shirt she weared. Ah ha, probably I had no eye to look in front.

Hmmm...I was late 8:50am to reach my office. ("Well, who cares, no one in the training room yet.") Today was a tough day. I was doing one-man-show at both morning and afternoon sessions. In a gloomy day, with moderate horse power aircon, and with my monotone signals, it was hard for the audiences not to fall asleep. I guessed so. Well, this looked familiar, my Chinese lessons during my high school time by Lao Lee!!! (Ha, time flies, as long as you have enough material to read off from the screen. Repeat some key points for many times. Ah ha, that's it. Yet another morning session has passed.) Today I have only 4 males vs 2 females attendees. The missing lady had to meet her supervisor today. Ok, but she didnt come in the afternoon either. Suppose she was not meeting her supervisor whole day wa. But, nvm. ..........

In the afternoon, it was a more relax session. With short lecture, then let them adventure with the type-run-seewhat-think hands-on exercise that I had prepared. Most of the time, they could only type-run-seewhat-ask. Haha, they even fell into the traps of the pre-written program codes. They applied the techniques discussed in the lecture blindly to the pre-written codes :?, and ran the programs, hoped to get the correct results. Hahahaha, suddenly I felt satisfied with the hands-on exercise I had prepared, simple yet they couldnt get it right at the first time. More importantly, they learned the lessons. They may blame the system today for being noisy and unstable. The system would anytime DutDutDutDutDut, and display 'Kernel .... Syslogd .... cr0 .... cr1 .... ', then the java program just hang without good reasons. You cant close the windows, the only way is to find out the process ID using 'top', and issue the command 'kill -9 processID'. It was just frustrating when these happened. Well, everyone was still quite patient with this situation. The session ended automatically at 4:45pm.

The end of the Second Day of the Processor of the Day.

Professor of the Day

MSN Nickname of the Day: "Professor of the Day"

Today, the 4th attempt I put myself to the level of a professor. I was awarded a bachelor degree at Jan 2003. Before I manage to get my PhD degree, today, I was conducting a Computer course -- to a group of researchers :O. And today was the 4th attempt. What a great mission 8).

There was 7 of them attending the course today. 4 males vs 3 females. The morning session was an introduction to parallel computing and serial program optimization. Boring explainations passed the time pretty fast. Occasionally just answered a few questions from the audiences. Then we came to the first hands-on exercise. (Oh my god, these guys never use Unix/Linux system before, how are they going to write programs, fainted.) Luckily, they were still able to go through the type-enter-and-seewhat hands-on that I had prepared. In the afternoon session, most of the time were covered by my partner. So, from then on, I slept at the back without making noise....Heard someone was calling my name. Ah ha, it was again hands-on session time. Aiks, if this wasnt get interrupted, I would have been having a sweet dream. What a pity moment.

I chat with the china girl after lunch time. Haha, she said I spoke like a china man, the standard is not poor at all . Am I Singaporean? Malaysian? or China PRC? ... :p

mmm...I'm getting more and more confident with my mandarin speaking. China PRC often admire Malaysian for being capable of speaking five languages -- Mandarin, English, Malay, Dilects, what else can I speak. (But what they do not know, is that Malaysians are shamefully poor in Science/Mathematics, but I just keep this to myself, not to make myself ashame.)

Well, afternoon time passed much faster than I had expected. So it was time to get ready to set off the office with indoor garden I've ever seen :o. Ops, one of the software didnt seems to run at all. Aiks, I need to show them in tomorrow session. What to do, OT time again. Ah haha, the lady online again. At least I had someone accompanying while having OT. Wasnt that the fate? If I had set off early, I wouldnt have met her online....anyway, I better get things done quick, and set off. I was hungry though no appetide to eat.

This was the End of the First Day of the Professor of the Day.

Start of my first blog in Xanga

I decided to join xanga. In the past, I used to change my nickname in MSN consistently according to my mood. To show what I want to tell but no one to tell. To express how I feel but no one to feel. Wouldnt it be nice if I have these kept in an electronic book, for those who missed the chances to hear about me? to comfort me? to know more about me? I guess so. :?
